12th Bird Watching and Nature Activities Festival in Sagres

The biggest nature event in Portugal is back in Sagres! The proposals this year are varied: field trips, boat trips, themed mini-courses, lectures, environmental education workshops, ringing and monitoring sessions and much, much more. And there are other suggestions such as walks, photography courses, historical guided tours or dolphin watching.

Who is it for?

For all nature lovers, from the youngest to the oldest, this festival has more than 150 varied activities. For bird watchers it is the meeting point for migration. All eyes will be on Sagres! I will be there promoting various activities, if you have any questions you can come and talk to me or get in touch with the festival organizers.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

Photographic Equipment

Digital camera, preferably a DSLR or a mirrorless latest model capable of photographing in low light conditions. A compact machine or bridge can also be used but you must understand its limitations;

Stable tripod;

Wide-angle lens;

Extras: a trigger cable.

Clothing

Warm clothing;

Hiking boots;

Depending on the day, I recommend bringing an extra pair of warm socks, a hat and gloves.

Others

Head light with red light;

Powerbank to recharge your cell phone.

Physical Requirements

Most of our destinations are accessible by car or on foot, however there may be more demanding parts of the route. They do not need to be highly competitive athletes, however, they must be in physical condition to withstand these efforts.

They must report any illness or health problem they have, so that we can take it into account during field trips. We may have to adapt the locations to photograph, but we will try to provide the best experience possible.
